SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE PHOTO CONTEST




The contest is open to kids aged between 6 and 16*.
To celebrate the amazingly varied world around us we're asking you to grab your camera and show us what biodiversity means to you by entering our See the Bigger Picture photo contest.

Submit one colour image that you think captures the spirit or idea of biodiversity. It could be a favourite tree or a plant, an animal or an insect, even a whole ecosystem (from your own back yard to somewhere you've visited on vacation) — your image should show people why biodiversity is a good thing that we should try to preserve.

The submitted photographs should:

Show an understanding of biodiversity
Be of a good quality
Be original and creative
How to enter: Digital images as labelled jpegs files or mail-in submissions, including image on CD
Begins: June 5, 2009
Final submissions: September 8, 2009


WHO MAY ENTER

Contest is open only to children who are between the ages of 6 and 16 as of August 31, 2009 and who are not residents of the United States or Canada. A parent or legal guardian of the entrant must submit the entry on the minor entrant's behalf. Employees of Sponsor, Airbus, their affiliates and subsidiaries, and their immediate family members spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they live) or persons living in the same households of such individuals, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter or win a prize. CONTEST IS VOID IN THE UNITED STATES, CANADA AND WHERE PROHIBITED. MANY WILL ENTER; FEW WILL WIN.



The lucky winners of the See the Bigger Picture competition will be flown to Washington, D.C., with a parent or guardian, to visit the landmark headquarters of the National Geographic Society.*

This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity lets you immerse yourself in the tradition, ethics, and inspiration of this world famous organisation, which has pursued its mission — inspiring people to care about the planet — since 1888.

The prize will include a fantastic opportunity to spend time with renowned National Geographic photographer, Joel Sartore. You will get first-hand photo tips from a top expert to enhance your own photography skills and bring home your own stunning images.

You'll also attend an exclusive Gala Event held to celebrate the winners of the See the Bigger Picture competition and spend time visiting the sights and sounds of Washington, D.C.

20 Honourable Mentions will receive a National Geographic keepsake book, autographed by Joel Sartore
