Think Tank Photo Contest December 2010

Prize Eligibility Only persons who are at least 18 years of age can enter.

Grand PrizeThe Grand Prize winning-photographer will receive the $5,000 cash prize. The judges will select the one best photo from all photos submitted into the

four categories: (1) What does urban, gritty, or edgy mean to you?;

Photocrati $5000 grant


Fund will give away one $5000 grant this year for a non-professional photographer to undertake a an important humanitarian, environmental, or social photography project. Photocrati is excited to have some of the most celebrated environmental and cultural photographers in the world acting as board members and judges for the competition:

Each submission may contain only one project proposal. Each applicant may apply only once per submission cycle. Applications are not carried over to the following year. All applications must be submitted in English, online to the following email address: fund@photocrati.com. Please proofread to avoid typos and grammatical errors.

Only applications that meet ALL SUBMISSION CRITERIA will be judged. Once the application and proposal has been submitted, content changes are not allowed. Photo Travel Contest



Photo Travel Review announces the Travel Photo of the Year Contest.

Our editors will select one photograph each month as Travel Photo of the Month, then select the best of 12 as Travel Photo of the Year. Selections will also be made from those photographers who have submitted Guest Articles, or from those photographs we have selected for our Featured Photos page.

When submitting a photograph for our consideration, please tell us your story as well. What motivated you to go to the place the photograph was taken? What hardships did you go though? What excited you about the place or the subject? What are your recommendations to others who might want to visit the same place?

The contest is sponsored by our friends at Essential Photo Gear, who will offer prizes to winners.

To submit a photo for consideration:

  • 1. Submit a JPEG file, in sRGB format
  • 2. Limit file size to 200KB.
  • 3. Limit the size of the image to 700 pixels on the longest side.

Even though the festive season is over, here at ePHOTOzine we don’t feel like we’ve had quite enough food yet so for January’s competition we want to see your FOOD imagery.

Now, we don’t just want to see shots of leftover turkey! Impress us with your arty plates, clever angles and interesting lighting. Why not try photographing fruit in water or some macro shots of seeds? Your images can be bright and colourful, black & white, or anything else so long as their good enough to eat!

Welcome to the CentralPark.com Photo Contest. For years we’ve been enjoying the photographic efforts of our very talented members. Now we’re rewarding them for their unique contributions to the visual narrative of Central Park with the CentralPark.com Photo Contest.

Each season the top thirty user-uploaded pictures, as rated by our members, will be passed on to a panel of judges. These judges will determine the top 3 lucky winning photos for each of our seasonal contests.

Prize Details: The Grand Prize each season includes a CentralPark.com t-shirt, a pocket guide, a Central Park poster and a picnic basket. The winning photographers will also be permanently displayed on our winner’s page.

Entrepreneur Photo Contest

Anyone is welcome to participate in this competition. The competition will award twelve (12) prizes, one per month, over a period of one year. Each month, one finalist will be selected and will receive a prize of $100. The grand prize winner (selected from among the 12 finalist photographs) will receive $1,000 at the end of the year.

Often, the imagery associated with developing nations captures the misery that accompanies poverty. While it is important that these things are taken seriously and are documented, we believe that developing nations also represent tremendous opportunities for hope. The “I am an Entrepreneur” competition strives to reframe the dialogue around solutions to poverty by infusing the world’s imagination with new imagery that focuses on entrepreneurship. Our objective with this competition is to gather stunning photographs profiling individual entrepreneurs from around the globe.

Prize Details: The competition will award twelve (12) prizes, one per month, over a period of one year. Each month, one finalist will be selected and will receive a prize of $100. The grand prize winner (selected from among the 12 finalist photographs) will receive $1,000 at the end of the year.

Copyright: Participation in the competition and submission of photographs grants SEVEN a perpetual, worldwide, royalty free license to use the images in its sole discretion. Submission of the photograph grants SEVEN the right to use the photograph in its media, including but not limited to its website, marketing materials, or upcoming books and films. Any photograph selected to be used in that way would be done so with proper attribution to the photographer, who would also be compensated for that work at market rates.

The Aperture Light Photo of the Month


The Aperture Light Photo of the Month competition is FREE to enter and open to both amateur and professional photographers of any nationality.
Photographers can edit their current contest entries any time after uploading the images. We’ve also clarified a number of rules. Please read the rule carefully before entering in Photo of the Month contest.

Eligibility: The entry is open to all photographers over 18 years of age, or under parent guidance

Limit: Each member can upload single entry in Photo of the Month Contest.

Entry Fee: None

Guidelines for uploading your image

1. The size of the image file should not exceed more than 1MB.

2. Images must be saved as .jpg files at the highest possible quality setting (12 or Max in Photoshop).

3. Images should only treated with basic sharpening, cropping and removal of dust spots. Images should contain only the subject matter as originally seen through the viewfinder.

4. Photographs must have been taken from a digital camera

5. Each Entry does not contain any infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, libelous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, profane or nude content.

Copyright and all other rights remain that of the photographer. Any photograph used by The Aperture Light shall carry the photographer’s credit line.
