To celebrate World Wetlands Day 2010 on 2nd February, WetlandCare Australia is hosting its 3rd annual Australia-wide art competition, offering categories for children and adults.

Eligibility: Australian Residents
The categories in the Competition have been designed to give as many people as possible the opportunity to submit entries. The categories are:
- Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts Open Art 1st Prize: $1250
- Central West Catchment Management Authority Children's Art Senior (ages 12-17) 1st Prize: $1000 & an Art Supply kit, including papers and paints
- Murray-Darling Basin Authority Children's Art Junior (ages 4-11) 1st Prize: $1000 & an Art Supply kit, including papers and paints
- NSW Department of Environment Climate Change and Water Open Photography 1st Prize: $1250
- Children's Photography (ages 4-17) 1st Prize $1000 & a Steve Parish book pack
All artworks and photographs must be on paper, unframed and up to A3 in size.
All categories of the competition are acquisitive; reproductions of the winning entries of the WetlandCare Australia National Art and Photography Competition may be used by WetlandCare Australia to promote wetlands, and the work of WetlandCare Australia.
The winning Artworks and Photography may also be used by WetlandCare Australia to develop products for fundraising purposes.
Reproductions of the winning entries may be used by major sponsors in their media and promotions, with the artists always being recognised by name.
The artist will always be acknowledged wherever a work is reproduced.

Copyright: The entrant, by entering the competition and accepting a category prize or merit award, agrees that the winning entry is acquired by WetlandCare Australia AND that they grant WetlandCare Australia a non-exclusive licence* to use a reproduction of the winning artwork for five years from 1 January 2010. The work may be reproduced, in whole or in part, by WetlandCare Australia for their projects, media and promotions. The artist will be recognised by name wherever the work is reproduced. The winning artworks and photography may be used to develop products for fundraising by WetlandCare Australia, under a non-exclusive licence* for five years from 1 January 2010, if the entrant has signed the relevant section of the entry form. The work may be reproduced, in whole or in part, for the development of products for promotional and fundraising purposes by WetlandCare Australia. The artist will be recognised by name wherever the work is reproduced. WetlandCare Australia is a not-for-profit organisation, with all proceeds from fundraising going to projects such as wetland restoration and conservation. The major sponsoring organisations with naming rights to category prizes may use reproductions of the winning works for promotional and media purposes until 2 October 2010, under agreement with WetlandCare Australia. No artwork will be used for fundraising purposes by sponsoring organisations, and the artist will always be acknowledged by name and prize won wherever their work is reproduced. The entrant, by entering the Open Art category of the competition and accepting a category prize or merit award, agrees that they grant Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts (DEWHA) a non-exclusive licence* to use a reproduction of the winning artwork for five years from 2 February 2010 under agreement with WetlandCare Australia. The work may be reproduced, in whole or in part, by DEWHA for their media and promotions. No artwork will be used for fundraising purposes by DEWHA, and the artist will be recognised by name wherever the work is reproduced.
